Wolfville Christmas Bird Count -1998

Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998
Compiled by Stan Riggs, with help on feeders by Jim Wolford

Our weather on Count Day was quite varied (i.e., the Maritimes in spades!); thankfully we had snow-cover from the storm of Dec. 18 (very well timed); most of the day was fairly warm (a few degrees above 0 C.), often sunny (argh!); in afternoon a stiff wind from the northwest developed and temperature dropped, then the wind abated a lot and it was warm again. We had 44 field observers in 24 field-parties plus 82 feeder-watchers at 62 feeders.
