The November Meeting is our Annual General Meeting. After the AGM, we will will have a talk called: Marine Protected Areas: Challenges and Opportunities in Atlantic Canada by Jordy Thomson Marine protected areas are a cornerstone of effective ocean conservation. Despite the fact that Canada is an ocean nation with over 200,000 km of coastline, we have been slow to implement protected areas in our coastal and marine waters, with < 1% protected as recently as 2015. Wolfville Christmas Bird Count

December 14

This year's Wolfville CBC is scheduled for Saturday, Dec 14. If you wish to participate as a field observers, you can contact Alison Bogan (alison@bogan.ca).  If you wish to participate as a feeder watcher, the contact person is George Forsyth (ge4syth@gmail.com). West Hants Christmas Bird Count

Sunday, December 29, 2019 West Hants Christmas Bird Count Patrick Kelly (902 472–2322, patrick.kelly@dal.ca) will be compiling the count again this year. All are welcome to participate, but please contact the compiler as soon as possible so that you can be included in the planning. If you live or visit within the count circle, keep your eyes open for unusual birds observed the count week period, Dec. 26–28 and Dec. 30–Jan. 1.
