[BNS_members] Fwd: Fall outdoor programs for Kids: Coyote Classroom & Forest Play

Hello Everyone,
BNS is pleased to be supporting Flying Squirrel Adventures in the launch of
a new outdoor nature program for kids. Perhaps there are famlies in your
circles that would be interested.  We'd love your help in spreading the
word.

*Coyote Classroom *will take place on the Black Rock Trails (North
Mountain) and surrounding area every Wednesday starting September 16th.
It's for children aged 7-11 during school hours.  We are offering an
outdoor school alternative to help families who may not be comfortable with
the new normal in schools and for kids for whom an outdoor play &
exploration environment is better suited.  We will start with an initial
6-week session and will consider a second session if there is enough

I have also included the piece below about our Forest Play program for 3-5
year olds in Kentville in case you know families for whom that is a fit.

A desk and four walls is not a fit for every child. Flying Squirrel
Adventures is pleased to offer a forest school approach that honours the
whole child and fosters community among all involved.  We will establish a
rhythm together with the children that encourages curiosity and fun, play
and imagination, exploration and movement, awareness and care for the
natural world, personal and group awareness, and self-sufficiency. We
foster these attributes through a set of core routines and nature based
challenges.

We are again offering our popular Forest Play program in partnership with
the Town of Kentville, at the Gorge.

Outdoor play in nature is an essential part of children’s healthy
development supporting their physical, emotional and mental well-being.
Play is where young children learn such diverse skills and traits as
physical literacy, communication, empathy, sharing, spatial awareness,
problem solving, resilience and persistence. With attentive care from 2
experienced care-providers
