Hi all,

Given the predictions for this wet weather to continue into the weekend,
including a forecast of rain and snow Sunday morning, we have made the
call to RESCHEDULE THE HIGHWAY CLEAN-UP that was originally scheduled
for this Sunday May 1st at 9:00 am. THE NEW DATE IS THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY
MAY 8TH AT 9:00 AM. A great way to clean-up our community, and something
we have been doing bi-annually over the past few years. I hope you can
join.

We are making the call now to accommodate a weekday pick-up of materials
(bags, high-visibility vests) required from the Department of
Transportation.

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP ON MAY 8TH BY SIGNING-UP HERE:

Details on the event: Please join our bi-annual highway clean up along
NS Trunk 1 from Wolfville to Deep Hollow Road! BNS has adopted this
section of road and we are committed to keeping it clear of garbage. The
group will meet in the Elderkin's parking lot on Main St, in the west
end of Wolfville. Please remember to bring gloves if desired, good
footwear and rain gear if it is damp or lightly raining. Hazard jackets
and bags will be provided.

Thanks!

Caroline

 Coordinator, Blomidon Naturalists Society

Blomidon Naturalists Society activities take place in Mi'kma'ki, the
traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. This
territory is covered by the "Treaties of Peace and Friendship" which did
not deal with the surrender of lands and resources but in fact
recognized Mi'kmaw title. We want to recognize that outdoor education
and play would not be possible without access to the natural world that
has been stewarded since time immemorial by the many Indigenous peoples
of this land. We acknowledge that we have a responsibility to honour and
learn about their histories and current cultures and to actively work in
support of reconciliation. We are committed to fostering respectful and
sustainable relationships with the Indigenous Peoples of this land, with
all other organisms, with the land and with the water.
