Lichens of Nova Scotia – Full Day Field Course

In this course, you will learn how to identify many macrolichens of Wapna’ki using guides, dichotomous lichen keys, and information about lichen families and broad classifications. Additionally, you will learn about the unique ecology of the lichen symbiosis, the abundance of rare and special lichens in Nova Scotia, and about the conservation of lichens in this region.

Presenter Alain Belliveau is the collections manager of the E.C. Smith herbarium for the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre and Harriet Irving Botanical Garden at Acadia University. He is an extensive contributor to the Blomidon Naturalists Society.
