Paddle Field Trip in the Chain Lakes Wilderness Area

Join Larry Bogan for a field trip exploring the Chain Lakes Wilderness Area by vessel! Bring your canoe or kayak to paddle Peter Lake and southern Shell Camp Lake. Meeting point is Avery’s in South Berwick at 9 am; we’ll put into the lake by 10 am. These are bigger lakes and the paddle  will be 4 to 8 km, to be determined by the participants.  Peter Lake has an extensive wet area to the south while Shell Camp has an interesting long narrow outlet.

This field trip is limited to 6 vessels; the registration form might fill up faster than I can monitor it – I will confirm with everyone whether you are registered for the canoe/kayak trip or waitlisted.

Be sure to bring your vessel of choice, a PFD, a whistle, a floating rope and a bailing device for safety reasons.
