Hi everyone,

With the first few days of March behind us and each morning a bit brighter than the last, I am excitedly awaiting the start of spring. However, I do hope (and believe) we have some snow still to come. There are too many spots I have yet to explore by snowshoe and ski! If you have gone on an enjoyable walk, ski or snowshoe adventure, you are welcome to send any pictures, notes or observations to Riley at rileyscanlan16 at gmail.com to be featured in our next e-newsletter.

Our February meeting was very informative; Kristen Noel from the NS Invasive Species Council went over some of the most prominent invasive critters in our province. The February field trip to explore a beaver's home at the Lorax Woodlands was unfortunately postponed, but we do plan to gather and walk about together soon.

This coming month, we will learn from Tom Herman about the changes in how we understand climate change, and a few of us will learn from Soren how to identify and survey for Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. Details and other events below.

Happy trails,
Riley
