Good morning,

A reminder of the Candles for Climate event happening in Wolfville this
evening at 5:00 pm. Many BNS members & Board members, along with
students and community members, are involved in this. As we look towards
launching Climate Circles soon (a facilitated space for local climate
organizing & action), this event may serve as an initial space to
(re)connect around climate and environmental concern, hope & action.

Blurb from the organizers: ·

_Join us by candlelight to connect, share our concern for this world,
find hope and gratitude among our community, and mobilize for climate
and environmental action in the wake of COP27._

Friday November 18, 2022
5:00 pm - Clock Park, Wolfville

A group of community members invite you to gather and connect over
climate concern, hope and action. As we watch the news, we cannot help
but feel despair. Yet, we know the power of coming together as a
community to express our feelings, to inspire hope, and demand action.
Let's build community connections that serve as the foundation for
robust, inspired, heart-felt and necessary local climate action &
biodiversity conservation. Among other things, let's speak for an end to
fossil fuel exploration and oil and gas subsidies, and a just transition
for workers.

Join us for a gathering circle, poetry offerings, guided moments of
connection and sharing, a candlelit walk through town to honour our
grief, illustrate our hope and call for dedicated, serious climate
action ... followed by a closing circle of gratitude, connection & hot
chocolate (bring your own mug!)

_ Blomidon Naturalists Society activities take place in Mi'kma'ki, the
traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. We
acknowledge that we have a responsibility to honour and learn about
their histories and current cultures and to actively work in support of
reconciliation. We are committed to fostering respectful and sustainable
relationships with the Indigenous Peoples of this land, with all other
organisms, with the land and with the water._
