This feels right. Come up with whatever total is appropriate, and then give space to provide an acknowledgement to Mi’Kmaqi and the Mi’Kmaq historic connections to Nature in settler words as a Society is a first step. Resources to learn more, digital place names maps, and apps that provide words and phrases about Nature in the Mi’kmaw language could be referenced as well. Maybe there could be a permanent map of the Acadian Forest region and one of Mi’Kmaqi in every edition??

If something like this is desirable, we would have to check with someone who has first-hand knowledge of the language. There would then have to be an explanation of what the word means - perhaps on the inside cover.

But wonder how we might be inclusive of Two-Eyed Seeing perspectives about the natural world, as a step towards reconciliation between settler conservationists and indigenous wisdom as a nature-based, conservation focused, and contemporary organization…

But what to call it? it is going to be an informative, engaging and stimulating publication with lots of colour perspectives and reach. Please pitch me some suggestions and the winner gets a free BNS wildflower or Fungi workshop!!! Time is short, the deadline for suggestions if Friday, May 20.
