Canadian High Arctic: the flora, fauna and climate change
The Arctic is experiencing some of the most dramatic changes in climate with temperature rising more than treble the global average. These changes have implications for the flora and fauna that call the Arctic their home. This talk will include pictures and stories from across the Canadian Arctic from Iqaluit, the capital of Nunavut, to Canada’s most northerly National Park, Quttinirpaaq where Zoe has conducted her field work.

Bio: Dr. Zoe Panchen is a plant ecologist who recently joined Acadia University as an Assistant Professor in Plant Biology. She gained her PhD in Biology from Carleton University and has held postdoctoral fellowships at Dalhousie, UBC, University of Ottawa and the Canadian Museum of Nature. Over the past 10 years Zoe has been privileged to visit and live in Nunavut to study the Arctic plants and climate change.
